A Time in Space is a replica of the stars in the night sky above Sweet Pass Sculpture Park on the night of October 3, 2020. Using this location's geographical coordinates (32*46'33.4"N, 96*49'53" W), I was able to find a map of the star's exact location in the sky at 7pm on 10/3/2020. This piece encourages the viewer to enter into the space, sit/lay down to stargaze, and discover the constellations above. This piece also comes with a handy constellation guide full of images, facts, & stories about specific constellations to help the viewer find their favorite constellations in the "sky" above.

Growing up in a small country town meant that every evening I would be able to see the stars light up the sky. Learning about constellations and the stories behind them made up a large part of my childhood. After moving to the city, I quickly discovered that starry nights don't exist due to light pollution. Therefore, I decided to create "A Time in Space" to give people the opportunity to see the stars in all their glory even in the biggest and brightest of cities.
